Mayoral Transition Public Announcement

CITY OF FAIRVIEW PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING THE OCTOBER 13, 2020, RESIGNATION OF MAYOR JOHN BLADE AND THE ACCOMPANYING TRANSITION TO MAYOR DEBBY RAINEY

On Tuesday, October 13, 2020, Mayor John Blade submitted his resignation to the City of Fairview stepping down from his seat as the city’s mayor. This resignation is effective immediately.

Pursuant to the City of Fairview Charter, section 6-20-203, whenever the position of mayor becomes vacant the city’s vice mayor becomes mayor and remains mayor for the duration of the current mayoral term.
