The Planning Department assists the Planning Commission in development and land use. All request for annexation, development or rezoning are first reviewed by the City Planner and City Engineer for compliance with the City’s long-range growth and land use plan. Once the plan is accepted as to form by the staff, it is placed on the agenda for the Planning Commission.
The Planning Department maintains records of all approved plans for subdivisions, commercial developments, and rezoning. Information concerning the use or proposed use of land within the corporate limits is available through this office.
The Codes Department is responsible for issuance of building permits, inspections of construction projects, and enforcement of all ordinances connected with health & safety codes.
